Import
Import brings the files from the scale indicator into Puelas. It is the only way to load animals and measurements.
Nothing is saved until you confirm. Import has three steps: Files, Review, and Confirm.
It opens from Sessions → Import files, or from Home when the herd is empty.
1. Files
Drop the files into the box or choose them from the file browser. You can upload just one or all the files in a folder.

Files are read as soon as they finish uploading. When they all finish, Puelas moves to Review if it found something it doesn't recognize, or straight to Confirm if it recognized everything.

2. Review
This step only appears when the files contain something Puelas doesn't know yet. Tell us once and we'll remember it for all the files imported from then on in the organization.
Columns
For each unknown column, choose what it records:
- About the animal: electronic tag, visual tag, sex, breed, sire, how it was conceived, lot, birth year or month.
- Measured this session: weight, GDR, keep or cull, pregnancy diagnosis, how it was served, note.
- Ignore it: the column is saved as-is with the reading, but it isn't interpreted and isn't asked about again.
Values
When a column is known but contains a value that isn't (for example, a new code in the GDR column), Puelas shows the value, the column, and how many animals have it. Choose what it It means... or Ignore it it.
Questions are asked only once for all the files. Continue is enabled when nothing is left unanswered.

3. Confirm
At the top you see how many Files, Animals, and Readings will be imported.
Each file has its own card, in the order it will be applied: oldest to newest, regardless of the order they were uploaded in. On each card you can:
- Correct the Held on, Session name, and Kind, which Puelas infers from the file.
- Choose a Lot: all the file's animals end up in that lot. If you type a name that doesn't exist, it appears with the New label and is created on import.
- Remove the file with ✕.
A session name can't be repeated on the same date. If it clashes with an existing one, Puelas asks you to change it.
Duplicate files
Puelas recognizes an already imported file by its content, not by its name: renaming it isn't enough to import it twice. Duplicates are listed with the date they came in and are skipped.
Readings copied from earlier sessions
The indicator often repeats columns from earlier sessions (for example, the ultrasound result in the palpation file). If that copy differs from what Puelas recorded at the time, what was recorded then stands and nothing is changed. The difference is shown as a notice, with the detail under Show the animals.
Rejected rows
Some rows aren't imported. The detail is under Show refused rows:

Rejected rows don't stop the rest from being imported.
What happens when you import
When you confirm, each file is imported separately: if one fails, the others still go in. For each file, Puelas:
- Creates the session.
- For each row, finds the animal by its electronic tag (or creates it) and records the measurement.
- Puts the animals in the chosen lot.
- Records who imported the file.
The animal data the file carries (visual tag, sex, breed, sire, birth, lot) update the animal. An empty cell never erases existing data.
Each measurement keeps the full original row, including ignored columns.
If you need to go back, an admin can undo the import.
